Experiment@Ciência, in partnership with NEBAUM (Núcleo de Estudantes de Biologia Aplicada da Universidade do Minho) organizes every morning of the 3rd Saturday of each month, at the Library Lúcio Craveiro da Silva, scientific interdisciplinary hands-on activities– Ciência p´ra que te quero - for children from 6 to 10 years.

M. Judite Almeida, a CBMA member, is in the core of the design and implementation of these activities.

The Scientia.com.pt project carries out another " Ciência p´ra que te quero" activity that will take place on the next 18th, at BLCS, this time linked to water.

From March 18 to April 1, the exhibition “ Água p´ra que te quero ..." will be held at the BLCS - Exhibition Hall. It is a show of several works, under the theme of water, conceived and executed by groups of students from Biology-Geology of the University of Minho, in articulation with the project Scientia.com.pt, of the School of Sciences of the University of Minho, and registered in the site of UN-WATER of the United Nations (http://www.worldwaterday.org/events-map/; http://www.worldwaterday.org/wtd-events/agua-pra-que- Te-want-water-need /).

"Ciência p´ra que te quero" - theme Scientia @ Sustentabilidade

1ª imagem
The “Ciência p´ra que te quero" activity took place on the morning of February 17, at the BLCS, carried out by Scientia.com.pt. This time, under the theme Scientia @ Sustentabilidade, the participants began the construction of a representative model of a “sustainable" city. The pieces created by the participants, on housing, energy and mobility, are the first elements that appear in referred model, which will continue to grow and change during 2017.

Ciência p´ra que te quero - CIÊNCIA POR ENTRE FOLHAS E FRUTOS

cv

This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The Power of Water

agua

As members of a project of science communication (scientia.com.pt), at School of Sciences of University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, one of our missions is to draw attention to the conscious consumption of water and to the importance of its reuse, while are revealed relevant concepts for this purpose, such as water cycle or water footprint. This year we celebrate the international water day through an exhibition of about thirty pieces designed and built by students of Biology-Geology course. The constructed objects may be seen in various locations of the University Campus for two weeks. Subsequently, the material may be transferred to public institutions, including schools, where they can gain new lives. This way the project can reach several thousand people, drawing attention to the water, this finite good that is for all, but that is becoming increasingly scarce.
