In 2003, twenty permanent researchers of the Biology Department of Minho University subscribed the proposal for creation of the CBMA. In the mean time, the team has grown and so has the responsability to keep up the pace of scientific productivity.
Currently, CBMA has 23 permanent members, 2 external collaborators and a growing number of young researchers, i.e., the PhD and Master students.

The teaching workload of the CBMA staff that belongs to the Biology Department is today almost 1150 ECTS/year, from which 64% corresponds to Master and PhD teaching level. The emergence of the new C1, C2 and C3 courses above mentioned will significantly increase the human resources in the near future.
