Academic Studies: 2003: Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology. Rice University, Houston, TX, USA
I am interested in marine biodiversity and population genetics. My research vision emphasizes the relevance of genetic monitoring as cost-less and effective tool to answer key ecological, conservation and evolutionary questions, providing robust scientific basis for the sustainable management of biodiversity. In this regard, my interest focuses on the understanding of the status of exploited populations through an integration of data resulting from several approaches. For successfully achieving projects, an extensive use of state-of the-art technology like DNA-microarrays, genotyping, sequencing is crucial. |
